Spring

Spring is closing... as the daffodils are blooming alongside with other early blooming flowers... saw me first sakura too... although I am not in Japan but in Berlin, it was gifts from Japan television channel Ashashi (or maybe I spell it wrong) Anyway, it was totally fun to see the changes in environment... Love it...

Other than that, my German language course are getting to end soon... but there´ll be an orientation course following up... learning about the history here in Germany... which is something interest me a lot... the language is hard but they have a rules to follow... which makes it sometimes easy...

How´s everyone else doing??

Christmas Market

I was in many of the Christmas Market in Berlin throughout the past weekend. It was fun and nice to see the things. I went to the Spandau Weihnachtmarkt, Opern Palais Weihnachtmarkt, Ku´damm Weihnachtmarkt, Alexanderplatz Weihnachtmarkt... lol... there are too many of them here in Berlin. Well, most people know, there´s these roasted almond... hmm... with so many types of flavour, the thick chocolate kisses with creams inside, popcorn, lebkuchen aka Gingerbread and so much more... I had tasted the almond... it is really GREAT especially if the store sells fresh roasted with sugar coating, and you will have a warm hand when walking around the market. Of course, there´s the huge christmas tree all over the places... I love it a lot... and in the christmas market in Spandau and Opern Palais, there´s the christmas scene in it... the one in Spandau attracts me a lot because they have real donkeys and sheep walking around the manger. It was fantastic...

it was cold and rainy (typical Berlin weather in Winter... as Berlin is a big town, so it was too hot for snowing... :-( lol...) well, it was really nice and really warmth... I like most of the things there... for those people who like ferries wells there are them... and some other stuffs... which attract people to go there... As from what I heard from our teacher, Christmas in Germany is for family and to celebrate the birth of Christ even for none Christians. And it is really a festival of light and I know about it better right now because of the environment goes dark at around 4pm, yes, you get it right, at 4pm... and also, Advent, it is really important here... people buying an advent stand with candles (4 of them) and light it in the evening from the first sunday before Christmas until the 4th sunday before Christmas (of course, for those of you who had been to Catholic churches, you should know about it) and also, Advent calender, a calender from 1 to 24 wrote on it and you are suppose to open one each day from the first of December until the 24th of December. there are many types of them... from those typical card until those with chocolate inside (from Milka, Lindt, Ferrero and all other chocolate company) this coming thursday is the Nikolaitag, which is where all those Santa originate... it is from a German legend of this St. Nikolaus who gave candies, chocolate and all those sweet stuffs. The original was that he gave the poor children who doesn´t have much for Winter and for Christmas... so, those of you who think santa and Christmas have something to do and gifts, then you are wrong... it was commercialized by Coca-cola company with Santa but the original form is Nikolaus as what the Germans celebrate... and on a day before this day, the children will clean their shoes and set before door or at the doorway and if they are good throughout the year then they will get candies and if they´re not, they´ll get something that´s not so good... hehe...

and it snow again

Well, I guess many people from a tropical country are somehow like me in many expect, we all like to see the changes of seasons and although the snowing in Berlin at this time of year is not normally happened (as I heard of), but then again, it trills me all the time when I see it. Yesterday morning around 10am it started again to snow.

It is really fun to see how it started with powdery small snowflakes falling down from the sky. Everytime I see this, I remember the first time when I see snow... (well, just about a week ago!) it was really nice and I can´t believe me eyes because it seemed to harmless yet so sweet. And seeing the snowflakes turn larger, it looks like feathers falling from the sky or from pillow fights. Well, it was wonderful and beautiful for me. The snow yesterday caught me off guard when it started to come down again during my class... it was so beautiful and yet dangerous (for many people who haven´t prepared themselves for the snow with winter tyres and stuffs...)

It looks dreamy and ultimately relaxing especially when the snow falling down so gently. It is something that we, from Malaysia never seen and never got to experienced. I know we have seaside and waves that are also so relaxing. I like to see the snow when there´s no strong wind blowing, then it is really like in the christmas ball (I hope I call it right, the snow ball thingy, where you have to shake it and see the snowflakes falling down). It is not easy to live in an foreign country but atleast I am learning to like it...

Snow?! November??!!!!

It´s snowing now in Berlin. I think it is very beautiful... this is the first time in my life that I seen it... the snow, I mean. I think it is really nice and it touches me to see the beauty of nature. Very lovely although it gets cold.

I know that right now it is only Autumn but then again it was really pretty to see snow and to feel it in my hand. I think that´s what I have been looking for. Although not the whole place are white in color but then again it is still pretty in my eyes. I know many people who had snow in their life doesn´t really like it a lot due to many problems that might cause due to snow. Anyway, I hope all have a nice autumn day and all is good soon.

I have started school too over here in Berlin. The teacher is hard because she is a Dr. and she require a lot over what we can do and what we know. She need precise word and not only a word that can simply put there... haha... well, I think it´s good for me because I can train myself better in it.

Well, that´s all for now... hope all is good...

Oohhh... wildberries...

Oh my, I haven´t been updating here since forever... anyway, I finally find my way back here... :-) The weather in Germany are getting warmer each day as summer is approaching and hehehe... found a spot to pluck wild raspberries, they are smaller than normal raspberries but with fuller aroma... other than that, found Schwarze Johannisbeeren (Black current) and Johannisbeeren (red current) too... wahahaha... yesterday went to pluck it and later walk through a shop selling fruits, and notice that raspberries costed 1,29 € per 100 gram since it is still too early for the full season... and red current costed 2,99 € per 500 gram and I have more than that from where I got them... other than that, I found some cherry too... :-P

But those who are in Malaysia always thinking that black current are sweet (from Ribena or jams... ) I have to tell you all, the real fruits are sour... only a hints of sweetness...

My friend´s garden have 2 apricote trees... full of fruits but not yet ripe, gonna wait for it to ripe... maybe in 2 weeks time... and can homemade jam, ice cream, cake with them... since there are so many of them... just can´t wait for that.

Sunshine!!!

Now, we finally have sunshine here in Berlin and the weather rise to 23 C instead on normally 12 C hehehe... now we are preparing for my birthday on Saturday as it´ll se my birthday on saturday.

yesterday was pouring rain the whole morning and afternoon and finally stopped on evening... it was nice to me. Well, went to their newly opened store yesterday and their way of promoting are pretty special. when you are shopping, there´s a girl coming along giving away to each person a bag with 2 breads inside... lol ofcourse I got one too... :-P and for lady when they paying, they get a rose too... whoa... lol... when there´s a kid with you when paying, you get a lollypop... hehehehe...

and most things are cheaper as always... 1 hotdog + 1 drinks only 0,50 € nice eh?? although not everything here are cheaper... but anyway, when things are cheap, then it´s cheap right??

Oh, yesterday I saw my first Proton car in Berlin... it´s proton wira in red... parked outside the shopping place. And I notice one thing, not too many starbucks sitting around when it comes to Coffee Bean... sorry to coffee bean´s fans... not even seen one when I was in Berlin Mitte (the middle of Berlin as their main place in Berlin) when it comes to cafe, even there´s a star bucks there beside a local cafe, you can see most people are at their local cafe although there are still crowds at starbucks but local cafe is always there.

All in all, Germany are speacial for themselves... I love it here... nice place, friendly people and great food...

photos

now, it is finally the time to upload pictures... lol... tadaa... hahahaha...

here´s the view on the way to Poland

Here´s some picture of poland flea market

Here´s me at a cafe

Town in Berlin

Reinikendorf

Poland

Poland is very polish lol... before we reach poland, at the borders I thought I might face problem there because when we reach there the immigration officer look at my passport and ask us to wait aside and we waited for a long time before they come out to talk to us. I was a bit scared... anyway, when this guy come out, he just ask me which is my first name and which is my last (as chinese always put family name first before our first name so they cannot find my details on computer... lol... no wonder it took so long...)

pretty nice place to me too... took some picture of the flea market there... we went to 2 flea market... the 2nd one are better as it is bigger... anyway, if you like flowers... very nice because there are many people selling plants there... and pretty cheap compare to in Germany... we went there by car... kinda tiring as it is about 1 hour from Berlin, now only I know. We bought a hanging flower for balcony for 5 € and later saw it in Berlin for 9,99 € lol... 2x the price...

after coming back from Poland, we went to the street festival to walk around and they said I should eat some chinese food... fried glass noodle but eewwwwwwwwwwww... sucks man!!! then there´s a truck from holland to sell off plants and they buy another plant for house... lol for 5 € where in florist, it will cost more than 30 € and then we walked around there... pretty nice as this is the first time I visit a street fest in Europe... :-)

All in all, Germany is a beautiful place and I like it so far... :-) until next time, have a nice day all...

Rainy days in Berlin

oh well, these few days it's been raining a lot and I think everything is nice just the coldness... and I only bring 1 jacket with me to Germany... oh well, have to shopping for jacket now.. hahaha... yesterday morning it was so cold and I think it was only 9 C... even the sun shined in the afternoon when we are eating outside (normal European way) but I can't feel the sun at all... it was nice, as I can assure you after 24 years of sun in my life, now I felt like I'm living in a refrigerator... hahahaha...

I still not yet able to make any pictures of everything here but I assure you all as soon as I get everything going over here, I'll have some posted here... ok??

here is really fun for me although everything is new to me. today, I took me first train (s-bahn) and it's nice... not as noisy as LRT in KL... to me, everything is very fresh...

the weather is kinda cold but I kinda get it now... it was only 9 C yesterday and it was fun... these few days it rained a lot... I think it was fine as I really enjoying the coldness here... hehehehe... I even ate icecream today dispite the coldness...

one thing I find about Germans is they smoke a lot... hahaha... I can't get over this but it is ok, I think... not my problem as long as I don't smoke. but then again, the air here in Berlin is so clean and fresh, I love it so much...

I better get going now. I will update here again. have a nice day all...

My first day in Berlin, Germany

I arrived yesterday in Frankfurt in German time 6pm and it is already 12 am Malaysia time. didn´t reach my new home until 1 am German time which is 7 am malaysia time. which means I didn´t get a real sleep for more than 24 hours as I can´t really sleep well on the flight.

in the flight it was a very scary one from Bangkok to Frankfurt. before we land in Frankfurt, the plane have a falling feeling 2 times, the first time for about 2 seconds and the 2nd time it was about 1minutes, many people in the plane were shouting and my heart stopped for the few seconds... very very scary.

Well, everything is very very exciting for me as this is the first time for me to walk around in the street and to go do some little shopping. this is so fun. other than that, today rained a lot, it's been drizzling the whole day in Berlin. we went around here and do some shopping to buy some asian stuffs for cooking but everything is so expensive for me. I think this is the first time I felt that things are so cheap back home in Penang.

the weather here is cold... only 17 C the whole day. Many times I thought I am in an air-conditioned room in Penang. hehehehe... such a nice weather. this is something that I love a lot about Berlin, although it has been raining a lot today... well, hey, this is spring... :-) anyway, back to my observation about this town... it is really cool as I love almost everything that I see about this town. first, the public transport, everything is so fast and nice here. they have s-bahn, u-bahn and straßen-bahn other than public busses. which makes me think this will be so nice for me to travel around even without a car of myself. :-)

when driving around the street in the car of my friends, we saw many shops selling things... fruits, cakes and bread and of course, flowers... hehe... they are very very nice to me. And walking around on the street makes me feel like this is a very nice place because of the weather here. not too hot as in Penang. I love it very very much.

other than that, I ate my first CurryWurst... which is something that I really think it's spicy which I never thought that I can find in a western country. I love it very much. they even ask me how spicy do I want it with the special spicy sauce... I took only number 4 (number 10 is the most spicy ones) anyway, if anyone of you are really up for spicy stuffs, you should try this. hehehehe... I think that's really very nice.

Other than that, hmm... I dunno, I'm very happy with everything around me and getting tired now as there're too many things to absorb myself too... anyway, everyone here, have a nice day... as I had one... hehehehe...
